Hi,
Pins are only awarded once. Once you have attained Genin status (winning a genin or 9 academy tournaments in one store), the meijin should send in a form and a pin is sent to the player. They cannot get another. Same with other rankings. The forms are found on the File area of the Yahoo group for Meijin.

The kits have instructions regarding cards and mats. If you are missing it, please let me know and I will forward a copy.

Thanks
Kim

Hi,

I am wondering how pins are to be awarded. I know the prize kits came with instructions, but some of the players are interpreting it differently than others. Some say that there are different rules around pins, and nobody ahs anything to back up what he-or-she said.

I would really appreciate it if you could give us either an official detailed guideline, email to someone who can help us, or a link to were official rules are.

Thanks a lot!

Thanks a lot! You have solved a lot of our issues, because we have only been able to hear things from just random people on forums.

So, with this said, lets say Person A wins 2 gennin tournaments, he can not get a second gennin pin?

nope...You only get one Genin Pin and the office keeps a record of the ones they send out so they don't duplicate.

Thanks
Kim

is that right....

wow, crazy.

so is it 9 Academies now to win a Genin rank? or 3 only still? 9 seems like a lot o.O

x)

and I know 3 Genins is still for the Chunin win, because the form says so :P

but there is no form for 9 Academy Wins for a Genin rank though anywhere, does anyone have those forms?

btw, they really don't duplicate? because a few of my players have more than 1 or 2 pins in Genin rank o.O

When you win achieve genin status, you are also supposed to get a certificate from the mejin.

he gets the file from the meijin group.

you can only get genin status once... from each dojo (shop)

say you get genin status at Shop A
you can also get that status 'AGAIN' (or in technical terms, for the 'first time') at shop B

you can not be given 2 genin pins from shop A

with the new OP system nothing gets reset from year to year.

the best way to accumulate multiple pins to to travel to other places genins (the same way we travel to chunins)

you can become a chunin at shop A if you will the status 3 times with 27 ninja academy or 3 genins, but you should not be given more than 1 pin.

well, then IN MY OPINION that looks quite silly on them, unless they state that they won them from multiple shops.

its your opinion, sure.

some of my players have gotten several pins from our same store.

but anyways, countless guys run around with a multitude of pins, ahah.

like they would care to tell where they've gotten them from, o.O

at the Jonins, I saw a kid whose entire left side of his playmat was covered in Genin and Chunin pins. haha.

I met a guy in alaska that gave me a chunin pin.
he had more than a handfull of them! he has been winning every chunin tourny in alaska (2 a year), not to mention all the locals and genins that he won.

he was really, cool we hung out a lot and offered me a chunin pin ^.^

I talked to Kim L. about the same thing. same answers.
didn't like the answer. uh...

but it's weird, they sent my shop 9 genins and 3 chunin pins...

well, anyways i don't want to look a like a douch either with multiple genin pins from the same shop (even though i hold a chunin pin without being of that rank *_*)

Hrm ...

Two of my friends and I have 3 Genin pins each from the same store. The Meijin at our store said we needed 3 Genins to qualify for a Chunin exam.

*shrug*

The whole system is confusing, especially when our Meijin doesn't really seem to follow any of the rules (i.e. Tie rules, Game Mechanics, and Rogue lists).

Heck, half the players play what us more serious players deem as "tourney rules" where they consider V & OV 's equal to NBR & OBR 's --- as in, V gives you 1 BR and OV gives you 2 BR's. Frustrating at first, we just dealt with it because we were tired of just playing ourselves. Play the normal when we face each other, though.

We three plan on entering Chunins to improve ourselves and eventually try for even higher events.

lol.

nice guy i guess ahah.

i'm sure thats how it is in a lot of areas, my cousin's place is the same too, they have hardly anyone show up but they keep hosting the tournament and like the same 1-2 guys win the tournament every week and the monthly genins ahah, so they have gotten a bunch of 'em too. :P

Kim's pretty straightforward sometimes, kind of like get to the point straight to business type of deal. lol. our crew knows her like personally and to be honest, i'm a bit afraid of her no joke x)

no event ever required a rank with the exception of the sanin event the pins are just small trophys they have no impact on the game at all you do not need one to be a genin obviusly you would want one when you win 3 acadamy you can have you meijin fill out the forms for the genin pin 9 acadaamy/3 genin events grant a chunin pin also forms your meijin can get ahold of
for a wile the pins were sent in kits but it was easyer this way sence not all stores ran genin events chunin kits still have the pin mailed with it sence players travle for these events
if your store says you need to be a genin or have X genin pins to enter a chunin event that is prized by bandai they are violating the rules of the event that is freely suported by bandai and i would sugest you make a complaint they event is open to anyone that has a 50 card deck legal for the event {ie block formate chunins can only be entered with block legal decks}

i also recomend each player before you ever go to a major event make sure you read the rule book and q&a documents because if your store plays under special rules or stipulations thats fine but trying to play by those in a major event can and will get you a game lose or dq'ed from that event
