Actually I still have nobody in my hotel room other than myself. With how Amir's plane flight booking is looking, I'm starting to doubt he's going to be able to go.

I get the entire hotel room to myself for $40 a night. Go figure.
Ok, go stay in your garbage hotel with X mile taxi ride.

A suite split 4 ways at 50 a night right next to the con is going to be cheaper and more convenient than having to taxi back and forth at 40 a night.

We can fit at least 8 people also with non-ground sleeping places for all of them. Now it's 25 a night.

Add in more people to occupy floor space and it's even cheaper.

More convenient for playtesting, no taxi, good location downtown, hmmmm...

Josh, your math is horribly wrong.

1 person * 40/night vs 1 person * 200/night

Taxi isn't going to cost $160 a day.

When you add people in your room, then you can do the same on the flip side. Even if taxi ends up being $20-30 a day, 60-70 split X ways will ultimately be less than 200 split the same X ways.

It's a 6 mile taxi ride btw.

More convenient yes. Cheaper? No where close. Comparing 1 person in a room vs 8 people in a room isn't a fair comparison. Sometimes convenience is worth the cost, but not when it is that much money, multiplied by five.

I'm not really concerned with staying by myself though, because I don't think that's going to happen.

My teams staying at univsersity conference center, i believe our totals each for 5 nights is 175-210 i forgot exact total, but the hotel comes with a shuttle that will take us anywhere in the city until 11 at night so no taxi expense makes this hotel busted. We have styawed there every year when we go to indy, plus i believe its 5 star too

Your math is terrible. All you're looking at is price which is an incredibly flawed measure without accounting for value. At 40 a night or whatever ghettoland charges you get a bed and a taxi ride to enjoy. For 40 a night at our place you get a bed and a better quality hotel and no taxi ride and better location and competent players to test with. Hmmm... even if you split your room up the value isnt there since only value point is your second bed. ROI, not price.

When the value of $100+/night is greater than the value of location, then I would be right. When the value of location is superior to any form of money, then you would be right. How I look at it is that the cost differential is so vast that even T4ing wouldn't make up the differential (this, of course, with 1 person; more people could move this to a T8).

You value location and playtesting in your room. I feel playtesting can be done in a variety of places like at the con, or like we did last year, in other peoples' hotel room.

If the price differential was something like $50 for the total bill, this would be different. We're looking at a $1000ish bill vs a $300ish bill. That's a differential that location, at least in my mind, can't make up. I also don't value playtesting as highly as you do, apparently. I'm used to going into events with zero games under my belt, and learning each round (though I'm not so good at doing that anymore).

We can just agree to disagree. I'm not sure why you've been so angry with me lately... I have no idea what I did to make you so mad.
