inoichi & Ino platoon??
after reading the explanation of why inoichi and ino's effect doesnt effect the OC's i went to read the rules more closely and i realized that the effect is worded incorrectly.
durring the mission phase, you can select one of your opponents ninjas. that ninja can only be sent out to battle as head ninja during this turn. it wasn't until i read the ruling of the oc and ino/inoichi. the explanation was something like, the oc's can become head ninja because after they are sent to block/attack then you decide the who is head ninja and since there can only be one head ninja they other cannot be head ninja. this essentially means that the inoichi and ino effect comes in too late. since the only way that the oc's can overide the effects of ino/inoichi is if you send your team to attack/block then you declare the head ninja. therefore in the same logic, since the declaration of the head ninja doesn't come as they are sent to battle but after they are. ino/inoichi and even just ino's effect becomes nuill. heres the way that it would work if you declared the head ninja as or before the ninja's are sent out to attack/block. declare the attacking team and head ninja. send the team to battle declare blocking team and head ninja send team to battle. but the way as it stands it goes more like this. declare attacking team send the team out to battle declare head ninja declare blocking team send the team out to battle declare head ninja. if the battle phase went as it did in the first example(which it doesnt) then the oc's effects have no time to even be considered, but because the battle phase is the latter the oc's effect comes in as soon as the attacking/blocking team is declared when there isn't a head ninja yet. therefore giving the team the chance of choosing the head ninja in this little time frame. so, since the bandai people are being so considerate of the flow of the battle phase as well as the wording of the ninjas. the way it is worded as of now, INO and INOICHI YAMANAKA & INO become a useless card effect. because they say that the ninja's must be "sent out" as head ninja. but the problem is that when the teams are "sent out" there is supposed to be no head ninja yet. only way to correct this would be to change the flow of the battle phase which in turn would null the oc ruling or change the wording of ino or inoichi & ino. |
