Itachi (N-453) and Jutsu

I searched for this and couldn't find any help.

Situation 1
------------------------------------------------------------
I send out a team with Itachi (N-453) as a back ninja.

My opponent sends out their team to block.

I pass on priority.

They play 8 Trigrams (J-006), which targets 1 Ninja

I chain with Itachi's (N-453) effect, making Itachi and the user of the Jutsu become Stand-By.

Would the Jutsu still be able to resolve and send my Ninja to the top of the deck?

Situation 2
------------------------------------------------------------
I send out a team with Itachi (N-453) as a back ninja.

My opponent sends out their team to block.

I pass on priority.

They play a Jutsu targeting "1 Ninja Battling Against the User"

I chain with Itachi's (N-453) effect, making Itachi and the user of the Jutsu become Stand-By.

Would the Jutsu not work anymore since the User of the Jutsu isn't battling anymore?

Thanks in advance

If the user of a jutsu is removed from the battlefield (IE becomes a standby ninja or leaves play) before the jutsu that ninja was using resolves, then that jutsu will fail. The jutsu will still be moved to it's controller's chakra area though.
