me and my friend where dulling he runs dog mill deck.

he thinks the summoned dog or toad does not get discarded unless their is a ninja with same name on field.
ie
kakashi, two headed wolf,Kuromaru
one ninja cast summoning jutsu and summons a 2nd Kuromaru. at end of turn the 2nd one is discarded.


but my friend thinks if this happens

one ninja cast summoning jutsu and summons Kuromaru at end of turn is not discarded. as he thinks since the ninja was not in play already it gets to stay.

i think it still gets discarded as it is a double if statement

The target can be put in play even if you already have a Ninja with the same name in play.
If the target still remains in play at the end of this turn, discard the target.

so even if the target is not in play already will it still be discarded at end of turn?

The discarding of the target for J-364 Summoning Jutsu is mandatory and discards the target regardles of if it was put in-play while you already had a Ninja with the same name in play or didn't have one.
