The Third Hokage (N-163)
Ok... So i am just looking for a correct ruling on these questions...
Since ninja effects go on the chain now...things have gotten more interesting. Say i sent out a team to battle of 3 ninjas, one of them is N-163, and my opponent blocks with his team. The exchange of jutsu happens and i activate n-163's effect on one of their ninjas and they respond with a jutsu. Say the chain is resolving and i removed the original target of n-163 with a jutsu, would n-163 still die even though there is no target for his effect which started this whole chain?? |

first, Ninja effects don't target. at the time of activation of N-163's effect, you don't select a Ninja, but there must be a potential Ninja that is currently Battling N-163 at the time.
when the effect is applied, you will select one of the Ninjas that are currently Battling the Ninja for N-163's effect to be applied towards. if no Ninjas are present at that time, the effect will fail. if one Ninja is present, they it must be selected, even if that Ninja is not the Ninja that the player originally was going to select. the optional effect is whether you activate the effect or not. you do not get the option to fail your own effect when its ready to be applied. |

Ok... i understand that now. But will N-163 get discarded at the end of the chain if there is no legal target? Or would he just simply stay on the team since his effect failed?
