God's Weapons
God’s Weapons
This is simply a prologue. Don't judge it badly if you didn't like the prologue. I'm saying this because most poeple tend to do so. And no, this isn't a fanfiction. If you want to read about retarded ninjas killing each other through unexplainable reasons and have them survive through almost impossible situations with awfully convenient events, then I suggest you go elsewhere. If you say something like "Where's the Kunais and Ninjas and all that?" I will block you and not care any furthur. I'll just let you go on being retarded. Prologue: The Crytan “Doctor! Two more patients have died!” a worried voice alerted. “Can you read off their causes of death?” another voice--the Doctor’s-- responded. “Yes. Both of them were given several third-degree burns from an inferno they were trapped in.” The Doctor sighed and rested his worn out, dark-brown-skinned hand upon his forehead. Underneath his hand, he closed his onyx-colored eyes. “Sir! Three more patients have been reported dead!” the other voice reported. Still with his hand on his head and his eyes closed, the Doctor responded, “Could you read their names off as well?” “Yes. One was a woman who was also given several third-degree burns after she was nicked in the side with a sword. The other was the woman’s husband. He was stabbed straight through the heart and died instantly. Before he was pulled into the Hospital, he was given a few second-degree burns, and that was it. The third one was a child who was also stabbed, but he was completely thrown out of the building. This family was directly next to the house with the aforementioned victims of the fire.” “This is obviously caused by another one of those Rebel Crytans. Great. That’s the third one this week!” This happened every month since half of the Crytan Soldiers rebelled in January--exactly five months ago. Every random week in a month, they will lay waste to a group of innocent people and sneak away to avoid being caught by the police. However, they didn’t even need to sneak away. They were already powerful enough to kill a bunch of lowly policemen. I knew this, for I’m also a Crytan. But unlike them, I’m not a rebel. The Crytan Soldiers were started about two years ago when the new age of technology came to our flying city. The new technology included strange swords that unlocked the abilities within the wielder when they first touch them. These powers are close to being godly. I don’t really understand how they work, but as soon as they come in contact with human skin, they unlock the wielder’s powers. After that, there are no other people who can wield it. That meant that we would be keeping the swords for the rest of our lives. Getting back to the Crytan Soldiers. After the new age technology was imported, the current king instantly forced them upon new soldiers to see what power they had. It, of course, was a complete success. Our army was more powerful than ever, and all of the soldiers were forced to have one with them at all times. All was peaceful for two years. And that’s when half of the Crytan Soldier Army rebelled. They were all fed up with the current king’s ways of engaging in combat--which was with the swords and no guns or other weaponry. Half of the army rebelled and returned fire upon the city. We constantly try to hunt them down, but with the help of their swords, they were able to reach the ground and come back here whenever they please. Now it is our job to receive one of them and ask him or her where they are hiding. As said before, I’m one of those people. “Doc, am I done?” I asked drowsily. I was hooked up to a energy-restoring machine, for I came into a nasty encounter yesterday and ended up badly wounded and with almost all of my energy wasted. What I meant by “all of my energy wasted” is something I have to explain about the swords. The swords actually run on a self-generating battery that heals itself if it isn’t used. Every time the wielder’s power is used, some of the sword’s energy is wasted. When all of the sword’s energy is used up, the Crytan Soldier must instantly see a doctor before they blank out, making them vulnerable to another Crytan. A skilled Crytan Soldier uses his sword’s power wisely. “Almost, Brendan” the Doctor said sounding almost relieved to get off the subject of death. I constantly went to his office, and no other doctor’s office, for this guy understood me and was actually friends with my parents, who were both recently killed by fires. “You do know that you shouldn’t push your sword to such a limit. You’re lucky someone found you in that alleyway before the Rebel Crytan did. Oh, wait--you’re done. Okay. Remember, don’t get out until the machine completely stops.” “Yeah, yeah. I know. You don’t have to remind me every time.” “I wish that would be the same thing for telling you to not push yourself.” “Whatever, Doc.” The machine is was lying upon stopped its whirring sound. I sat up on the machine and rolled off the side, finally standing up again after five hours in the doctor’s office, wide awake listening to the discussions of the doctor and his associate. The doctor led me towards a mirror for a scan. Of course I saw my reflection within the mirror. My light blue--almost white--hair extended over my lonely gray eyes and about everywhere else in a messy fashion. My shirt, a gray shirt with light blue patches around my should and neck. They were slightly torn and smudged at the shoulders, and the torso was almost completely charred black. A small, barely visible red horizontal ray started at my head and slowly slid down to the bottom of my feet. When it was done, a print-out came out nearby. “All right, there’s nothing wrong with you. You may leave.” “Thanks, Doc.” I stepped out of the dark metallic room and into a dimly lit room with a small person scurrying around studying the several monitors on the wall. Suddenly, just as I was about to leave, my wrist felt a harsh vibration. I lifted my wris****ch to eye level. The image of my chief’s face appeared. He was a middle-aged man with short-cut brown hair and milky brown eyes. His white skin was cleanly shaved. That was all I could see of him. “Brendan! Are you able to walk?” “Yeah, Chief,” I answered. “All right, then. Come down to the briefing room and we’ll brief you on your next mission that involves hunting down another one of those blasted rebels.” “Can’t you just tell me right now and save some time?” “We need to present you with something over here. Make sure you come quickly, before the target escapes back down to the planet surface!” “Yes, sir. I’ll be right there!” I said. I almost instantly dashed for the closest exit before the doctor stopped me. He handed me my sword. A beautifully sculpted sword with three blades, each forming a point of a traing is looked at from the front and a sapphire drill in between them. I put it in its sash that was diagonally placed upon my back. I looked up and dashed out the nearby door. Last edited by Ninja : 03-23-2008 at 05:35 PM. |
