The way I see it, is that this is Bandai's first real step in SHOWING us that they are in this game for the long haul.

Re-prints and a core set that is filled with cards that have easy to learn mechanics, easy to understand wordings, and not so terrible effects shows that not only game designers are learning from their past mistakes *coughino-shika-chocough* but also willing to change and create more of a balance in the game, take example Battle of Destiny. A "block" battle of destiny deck can have a multitude of element combinations and all be competitive with one another.

The point of these decks coming out before boosters, from my perspective, is that these pre-con decks will be able to meld into current released sets and be able to give newbies a fighting chance with others in their age and skill bracket. Granted, These new players will not stand a chance against Tier 1 decks and the players behind them, but against their friends, isn't it what this game is about in the end? Sixty-Four Palming a Kidomaru in the face, or using APW to remove Orochimaru from play?

I can remember when my girlfriend and I started playing. We fell in the category of wanting to just play the game and make our themed decks (her Sand village and my Taijutsu), but to start not getting beat in the local tournaments, we ended up having to buy a box of each set (Path thru R&R) just to be able to keep up. For people with jobs, that was fine, but for younger potential players (75% of our local tournament is under legal age to work), this puts a burden on parents who have enough to have to buy the kids.

Ahh Memmories?

card addiction

I can get my kids to do almost anything for Naruto cards - any parents reading take note.

I just ordered my first QFP box because I've been buying pack after pack to try for a handful of cards. I'm hoping for the best with that. I have terrible luck though.

I'm excited about the new set too. BOD wasn't as exciting for me I don't know why. . .but I'm setting aside all the duplicates upon duplicates I've gotten so I can trade them off, I always keep 1 for my collection, jeez I keep getting the same cards in the booster packs and I've bought them at different locations.

So back to the original start - is this set going to release in May with SD's?

How did your post end up at the top?! I've seen this happen on another thread, too.

It only 3 months. That's about average for a new set. Jeez, people are so impatient these days.

Excellent Ideas

I just finished reading the information on the front page. I guess if you read first then you'll know whatz up. The information is great and it makes sense what Rotationneiji was speaking too. Bandai is really casting a lot of "publicity" into Naruto CCG begining commercials (I saw the first one last night on CN) and now even reaching out to get new players to come out and play (I want a mat!). I think it will create a "buzz" and create interest. I agree with another persons statement that - hey if you have a mat you want to use it right? Starts around April, yay, I can't wait.

Well every Starter has Starter Exclusive cards as well as a nice STSR, so its safe to assume that those trends will remain in Set 9. And if anyone has bought the last Starters they know how good those excluvies can be (1st & 2nd Hokage)
