The Power of "3" is a very common Biblical theory. The Triangle is the most powerful shape, because it cannot fall down and fall over...Sorta like a Pryamid.

3 Sides...Each that can defeat the other (Rock, Paper, Scissor...There is no Victory) which leads to the same "There is also someone better/stronger/faster/more skilled/etc."

The Triforce from Zelda gets it legend from Anicent Times of Power, Wisdom, and Courage (The Different Parts of the Triforce.) which are the three main Spiritual Energies of Life.

Scarface gives the 3 Steps to obtaining happiness (1) Money (2) Power (3) Women.

The Wizard of OZ is another references to the Triforce...
Scarecrow + brain = Wisdom
Cowardly Lion + bravery = Power
The Tin-Man + Heart = Courage

Yu-Gi-Oh has the "3" Egyptian Gods...Obelisk, Ra, and Scilfer.

Trilogies in Movies give another explain of the "Rule of 3"...
The Lord of the Rings
The Matrix
Pirates of the Caribbean
The Godfather
(These really have nothing to do with anything, but those are Very Popular and Top Grossing films of all time...does the power of "3" have anything to do about it?")

As much as I know about movies just because their is 3 in them doesn't mean that that makes them that high in grossing and Might I add the supposed Star Wars trilogy until they turned that into a 6 set series to bad I guess
