Shikamaru can't copy that either, as a matter of fact Shikamaru can't copy anything, which still makes Kakashi > Shikamaru, since Kakashi would be able to copy the shadow possession

Its not all about who can copy or fight better. I mean narutos headed for hokage and he cant copy anything, lol. The thing that makes kakashi better hokage than shika is the fact that he has experience way over shikamarus.

Kakashi is not necessarily as smart as shikamaru.

Kakashi said he had a brain "like" Shikamaru's, meaning he probably thinks things through in many different aspects. But shikamaru is truly the greatest tactician in the show, He would be the best leader.

Kakashi has been recognized to be equal in mentality with shikamaru and has exceled at things at an even earlier age in things than itachi did. But never the less shika still maybe smarter but to lazy to be a hokage imo, and shikas my fav character so i dont mean any disrespect to him.

You did not understand what I am trying to say, it was said that Kakashi is as smart as Shikamaru. And you know it to be true when he thinks of things so carefully. And I didn't say that you need to b able to copy jutsus to be Hokage. However, it does give him an advantage over Shikamaru since he would know more jutsus and most likely would beat Shikamaru in a fight. don't get me wrong, I think Shikamaru is cool, but I say that Kakashi is in a higher level than Shika is.

Kakashi does have experience and superior techniques, Also he has age and wisdom over shikamaru, if shikamaru had a stronger resolve to fight and more experience he could surpass most adversaries

ok if you look at all the chuunin jounin (and 1 genin Naruto)
they have potential but kakashi and shika are really good canidates not riht now but later for shika because he will soon exceed his abillity right now and soon probably not have to think so long for a strategy but actually get it within seconds but then again hokage nneds to know a variety of jutsus and thats all shika has to do and who knows he maybe the first hokage to not have to fight because of negotion to lead away from war

well, according to manga chapter 342
Shikamaru told Kurenai that he would be a more responsible adult...
So, he is not the lazy bum we once knew.

With Kakashi always arriving late and reading his "books"
I think Kakashi would be more lazier than Shikamaru.

Shikamaru would probably be the best Hokage out of 1-5.
Since he is a pro at strategy and tactics...
He wouldn't have to be a strong fighter.
Besides the Third "Addressing Past Wrongs"
when does a Hokage ever have to fight?
Shikamaru just needs to sit behind the Hokage desk all day, dealing with clients, and sending platoons out on missions...
Eventually, he would conquer all the countries like it was a game of Shogi.
