Tsukiyomi and Amaterasu are names of two Japanese gods...Not sure why you would literally translate those.
I know Tsukuyomi is a Genjutsu ability; I was referring to it as a jutsu just because it's a Jutsu card in the game.

I think that they should keep the original games "Tsukuyomi" and "Amaterasu"; English people might not know what's going on, but they are the original names of the techniques and shouldn't be translated. Does anyone have translations for the "Uchiha Itachi" card(s)?

If the names have actual translations, and aren't referring to things, then sure, translate them. But you still call them "Jutsu." That's untranslated. Besides, why would you translate the names of two beings? You definitely don't translate Kakashi into Scarecrow, or Naruto into Spiraled Fish Meat.

There's stuff that really is supposed to stay Japanese, and stuff that is translatable. If we translated everything into English, it would take away the foreign appeal.

So...are you saying we SHOULD be translating "Tsukuyomi" in to "Moon Reader", and "Amaterasu" into "Heavenly Illumination"?

I think it would just be more appealing to have the original names.

The Jutsu`s are NOT names of people, so i translate them literally. So yeah maybe those are named after japanese gods, but the Jutsu itself isnt a japanese god. So hence why i translated it literally.

If its a ninja card i keep the name in japanese.

Translating Jutsu names is completely arbitrary and up to your prefrence really.

No no no, you misread me. I was talking about the word "jutsu." Not jutsu in general.

Amaterasu and Tsukiyomi should remain untranslated.

It would be strange to be playing and say, "I play 'Moon Reader.'" wouldn't it?

If you noticed on the english cards. MOST are translated into english "Shadow Shirken Jutsu". Very few are not, like "Byakugan".

You tell me what hard and fast rule there is to when to translate something and when not to. There isnt one.

If anything, It appears you`ll be seeing the vast majority of cards translated into english. Please refer to the spoiler, where out of ALL the jutsu and missions only 2 remaind in japanese.... http://www.bandaicg.com/naruto/showthread.php?t=337

Its all arbitrary and matter of prefence. I will never chat about this aspect of translation again, understood?

Trolls suck. :/

YES SIR!

No more talk of translation!

Yeah right, it's just people voicing opinions man. If you disagree, you're no better than everyone else. You're just stating your opinion. If you don't want to chat about the issue of translation again, so be it, but that's not gonna stop everyone else from doing so.
