Its for regional events/play. League play and such... regional championships which would lead to possibly larger national championships with the best of the various villages competing....
It's just giving Naruto like names to normal league play / regions. |

I personally think that the regions being called villages will make the gaming very interesting at least on tournament level.
As for clans, alliances, and things such as that I see how they can cause nothing except spam. Honestly I think that Bandai made a smart move in not allowing them, but in a way I also disagree with them not being allowed. Even though there is a spam problem with them, those groups if handled correctly can allow closer bonds within the community than just regular posting allows. On the other hand it also depends on how large the community on the forum is as well when it comes to creating closer bonds of friendship and things such as that. I suspect that without clans, clubs, and alliances there will probably still be plenty of friendships forged through playing the game itself. Simply put this forum is so active that I doubt any strong friendships are made amongst all the members. If the clubs were allowed, I highly suspect that they wouldn't make it past the first page without being spamed because of the board's activity. If things change then it will be interesting to see what kind of changes happen. If anything the regions will probably end up making things interesting. |

I was hoping Bandai would beat the eventual leak to the punch. Anyways, as far as "clubs" go, I wouldn't be adverse to members making their own forums to act as meeting places for competative players of a certain region. It could help as far as setting up meetings and finding out who is going where to do what, in a tournament-attendance sense. Kyle knows by now that I love L5R as a concept, and no small part of that is the Clan system, which does pretty well to encourage a certain, higher level of community between the more active players, as well as help to develop friendly (and sometimes not-too-friendly ) rivalries. Naruto, I think, might be able to do the same. Those that I've contacted already know how far behind this I already am . |
