Dynamic Entry!

GETTING THE CONTRACT

Neji and me were leaping through the trees, heading for the Sand Village. We had been given a mission from Granny Tsunade to get the contract for the Fire and Wind merge and bring them to Konoha to be signed. Then, the merge would be official, and the Wind would become Fire. Granny Tsunade had told us to expect attacks from those against the merge, but my mind was still set on that no ninja would betray their village.

"Neji?" I asked.

"Yes, Naruto?"

"Do YOU think anyone will betray Konoha?"

"Actually, I do. I fear the thought of a war greatly."

We didn't say anything after that. The only sound was the rustle of leaves as we continued are way through the trees. After a while, the sun was beginning to set so we set camp. Neji went right to bed, but I couldn't. I sat on the branch of a tree, staring at the night sky, filled with the million of stars. I thought deeply for a while. About the merge. How everyone said there would be Civil War. Slowly, I dozed off and fell asleep right on the tree branch.

*****

"Naruto! Wake up!" Neji demanded.

I woke with a jolt, almost falling off the tree. It was morning. The sun was up and there was still dew visible on the grass. I jumped off the tree and landed in front of Neji.

"If we hurry, we could make it to the Sand Village by the end of the day." He said.

I nodded my head in agreement. So we took off again, jumping across the trees. At the end of the day, both of us were beat. However, we continued on. Suddenly, the grassland and forest stopped, and instead was a vast desert of sand, signaling we were at the border of the Sand Village.

"Neji, I'm tired." I made a hand seal and a Shadow Clone appeared at my side. "Why don't we just send him to do it?"

".....I don't see the harm. Very well. Send your Shadow Clone and we will set up camp here."

My Shadow Clone went running through the desert as Neji and I set up our tents. Neji gathered some wood and started a fire, which I cooked Instant Ramen over. After I had slurped it down, I stared deeply at crackling fire, thinking. I had been doing a lot of thinking lately. Then again, there was a lot to think about. In the distance, I heard footsteps. Expecting an attack, Neji and I sprang up and looked around. From the shadows stepped out my clone! In his hand was a metal case, which he handed over to me and then vanished in a puff of smoke. I opened the case, and sure enough, inside was the contact for the Fire Wind merge.

"Let's call it a night." Neji said.

".....Yeah....."

*****

Me and Neji were once again leaping through the trees, only now we were heading toward Konoha, and I had the contract. Suddenly, Neji stopped. I stopped, too.

"What is it?" I asked.

"Someone is coming. An enemy.... BEHIND YOU!"

I felt a punch hit the back of my head, sending me flying off the tree. I hit the ground, landing on my feet, and looked for the attacker.

"Where are they!?!?" I asked.

"They're using an Invisibility Jutsu! I'll tell your were they are!"

"How many are there?!"

"Only three!"

I saw Neji duck, as if avoiding an attack. He then thrusted his hands out, and I heard them hit two people. Then I heard the sound of them screaming as they fell to the ground.

"Naruto!!! To your left!"

I quickly threw a punch to my left, and felt it connect with someone's face. Before my eyes, a man magically appeared. I must have cut off his concentration for his Invisibility Jutsu. The man was wearing a black cloak that concealed his entire body. He tried to crawl away, but I grabbed him and pulled off the cloak to see who he was. I dropped him and staggered back when i saw what he was wearing.

A Leaf Village forehead protector.
