It was a bit of miscommunication here. They most likely did exactly what pretty much anyone else would. Each of them played out their matches, but prior to this they agreed no matter who got 1st-4th, they group all the prizing and hand out out evenly.

Done properly, this skirts (just barely) passed the rule that would cause penalty. And the guy (by the skin of his teeth) made it to the top regardless. That took the usual work that would have been needed. Semi-congrats man.
Doesn't mean I wont still whoop you on TCO or if I see ya at Gencon ;D
you dont have to be happy with what i said but the fact of the matter is they broke the rules i explained just that and sugested they dont post things like that in there event postings i didint say at all that this player didint deserve to win or that the player was bad others did i can defend both the rules and a player of the game if you dont like it gtfo its just that simple

also its been said that they did not play it out and split they just split and split{left} so yea nice
try

congrats man!

we should be happy that they have a chunin that had 26 people come by and a player from Chile..cmon guys, a lot of chunin's out there are still pushing 8-12 people..we're a small enough community as it is and like most people said it was an honest mistake. just a warning for all of us in the future, not everyone and every meijin reads or enforces Bandai's policies as much as they should. so we should learn from this event and make a habit of making sure we cover our ends as well as theirs. so move on, congrats and don't let anyone prevent you from posting up your deck..that was a ridiculous comment.

I appreciate you trying to help out the people by making them aware of the rules.

Yeah, we were happy with the large turnout, I'm shocked at how small everyone else's chunins are.

Listen everyone, this got out of hand, so to just end it i was the head judge of this chunnin and i allowed it because i obviously didnt see anything wrong with it....if everyone says its gambling thrn i guess we all do, we all roll dices if everyone wants yo get technical to decide on who goes first in a game....every single person in this event knew each other and it was late already, plus we had guys come down from ft. Myers and from cape coral, they had a long trip back home.....from the other chunnins that were going on as well this past saturday we had the biggest so far, we had 26 and in all reality i wasnt expecting 26 players, i should take full responsibility for what happened and dont let the players suffer if bandai decides to take action as for the player that posted thus thread, he did nothing wrong and he got into top 8 because of his tie breakers and got into top 4 cuz he earned it, i know if everyone was in an event and knew each other or are in a team in top 4 youd be deciding what to do instead of playing it out

Are great job guy don't let these a holes get u down for ur win! If anything all u have to say is the guy u faced folded and u guys split prizing because that's what in ad certainly happen how u guys decided to split ur prizing is up to u and was independent of the tournament if u want to roll a dice it wouldn't be gambling of the match since the rolling of the dice happen after the match was decided

The "problem" was that they rolled to see who got what place. That is what is gambling. Because there was no actual play, or people conceding to give places, which, however looked down upon, is still permitted. Rolling to see who goes first is done because it is a random way to decide who gets to play first, and nothing is really "won" from that.(admittedly, I always thought the system, for any card game, that made the match ups should also randomly decide who goes first, or who gets to decide who goes first)

Futher more, the attitude of cutting things short for time sake and so people can get back to where ever, is a horrible reason. For any type of tournament, not just card games, doing something to accomodate a few is bad morally, and for the integrity of the game. However, that is not the case here, as the player, who did, from what I read here, actually fully played and earned their spots, decided to split the top 4 winnings.

So, again, the only really grievence here is that they rolled for their places, in the top 4, rather than discussing it, and seeing who would concede to who and who what get place that way.

It's only held against you if you're caught and penalized. More power to this guy. On a technical note, how does Fire/Earth Revitalize work, if you don't mind me asking?
