Bandai obviously has all that already made into a database of some sort, so they can easily use that.
MWS and manually performing game actions is sufficient enough for testing - all you have to do is have all the filenames of the pictures of the cards be the same as the card names (I think I used card numbers actually, to get around stuff like Naruto COP vs Naruto L4H - this made deckbuilding a pain though). With the more advanced card list that's out right now, it should be possible to pull the ninja [subnames] and solve that problem, but that's far beyond the knowledge of my intro to PHP course.

If you're looking for a full fledged automatic game playing system like Magic Online... good luck.

Of course I've played that, I was just saying it could be done either way. It's much more rewarding to have automatic rules and mechanics in such a game, but it's not absolutely necessary. It could be partially done though, for simple things like phases and basic mechanics.

Anyway, personally I play with friends or playtest decks using LackeyCCG. I haven't really found something that tops it in terms of interface, customization and ease of use. The only downside is you have to rely on the person updating the plugin with the latest card sets.

I'm gonna bump this up because i think this is really important to naruto's continuation but yet keeps getting pushed aside by bandai... set it up like MTGO even it can only lead to profit and growth!

^ this... i mean i played all three online games and there fun, what naruto can do is put a code on the cards Like they did for ultimate ninja 2 or a (card pack code) like pokemon, when u purchase a pack and reedem the pack online, yes they have to invest money to make money but i bet the sales on packs would go up, must of us here go to tornaments but what about the people who dont? this gives them even more of a reason to buy cards, and play with others then just the two other people that play with them and it will make the game more compettitve, in my opinion at least. not everyone has gas money (which is going up and up) or tornament money to drive all over the place jsut to get practice. some players dont even have a car or can drive, (luckily i do) this is supplying the players with another way to play, think about the economy and think about your players.
obviously the naruto games sell well enough for them to keep making them even if its just adding characters to a game that could just be DLC. obviously the card game is doing well other wise we would not be sitting here talking about it. in fact i thinks its bandai must successful card game.
