Except that's exactly what everyone did. I've yet to meet one person that disliked the game for a reason other than "That wasn't Dante, the Hair/body/Face wasnt right!" despite the fact it's a prequel reboot. The game itself is amazing, easily my second favorite DMC under DMC3. Thats my opinion anyways.

As for this chapter really guys? Naruto acts just like the first and he's literally becoming the most powerful shinobi in existence. We just met the goofiest mo fo ever in bleach that turns out, he CREATES Zanpakto's. Luffy was a silly and enthusiastic type from the get go, and (while i've yet to make it past Ch. 25) i'm sure he's grown into some super badass as well! Then you know, there's freaking Goku (doubly so if you count DB, but DBZ makes the point well enough)
It's almost a law of anime. The goofy types always harbors some super power/amazing abilities and is some sorta ultra amazing person in some way. Multiply that by 10 if they are a main character. I don't get why anyone was surprised. Made sense to me.

It's not a big deal, it's just a change that appeared out of nowhere and doesn't really fit with any of our preconceptions of him.
I'll give you that in the flashbacks you don't get a since of him being unintelligent but you usually saw him fighting Madara and in battles we've seen people get serious no matter what their personality is. that being said when Oro revived him the first time it was insinuated in the last manga that his true personality was locked away.

This is how I felt about the whole Hashirama ordeal I was taken aback by it yes but as I've seen from Masashi Kishimoto this is just like something he would do. If I were to have been as upset as most of the people posting on this site I would've stopped reading this manga a long ways back.

The other times we've seen him, through card art or when "he" fought third hokage, he looked very serious. I don't think I've seen him smile until this chapter. Second hokage has card art of him being happy but in this chapter he looks like danzo.

Their personalities weren't locked away until orochimaru jabbed them with the kunai/talismans. The conversation they had before the fight was their true selves.

Funny, me and the people I talk to hated the game for the million other reasons:

A) The combat, which is a straight port of Heavenly Sword, updated slightly to incorporate a couple of Dante's old moves.

B) The FPS in combat, lowered from 60 to 30

C) The difficulty level, where the Dante Must Die mode in the new one is the approximate difficulty of Normal in the first and third ones.

D) The butchering of character arcs and progressions by making Dante's mom half-angel, and having their dad run from the big bad guy.

E) The bosses, which lazily telegraph 1 or 2 attacks, then sit there and let you wail on them for a while.

F) Dante acting like a complete jerk the majority of the game, confusing swearing for wit, and openly mocking fans of the previous games.

G) The implementation of TWO dodges buttons, at the cost of lock-on button, neutering half the move sets.

H) The forced use of angelic and demonic weapons in certain sections, removing the flow of picking what weapons you like for what situation.

I) The removal of style decay, allowing anyone with one hand and a working brain to get SSS on every fight, removing the need to change your moves up and just mash the attack button.

So yeah, the hair was easily the least of everyone's problems.

Eve since Naruto has fought Tobito, have you seen him once act like the Naruto this series was known for?
The strong goofy types get mad serious when fighting. That was my point.

IMO their personalities were void of emotion when speaking their voices had no differences in tone at all.

Tell me what changed through them talking to Hiruzen and them fighting him nothing. He stuck the kunais to bind them to his will to force them to actually fight for him, even more evident to that point the 1st asked are we being force to battle against you that would've not been needed ask if they were bind to his will already.

And again with my point Orochimaru says "if you'll notice I did not even bother neutralizing your distinct personalities" wouldn't yousay the first time around their personalities were neutral.Think about it.
