Not So Picture Perfect: Tournament
Alright! Time for it to begin! First, I think I'll give a little explanation so no one's confused.
First of all, I have a special part for all the Konoha profiles submitted, so no worries. You'll just have to wait and see, but I plan on introducing it in the first chapter. Every character submitted from a village other than Konoha will be taking part in this tournament. I'll place them on the appropriate sides and all that jazz will be taken care of. Enjoy the prologue. One would think on such an important, official day, the weather would be flawless. Such assumptions were to be scolded. In the Land of Iron, a small branch off the Land of Fire, the weather was far from flawless. A clear liquid showered down viciously from the darkening stratus clouds. Not a mist, not a sprinkle, but a heavy precipitation that turned the streets into a light chocolate mud. Though the skies were rumbling with gruff thunders, roars of cheers were heard inside the land from both the east and the west. The two sides, Mikazuki and Nisshoku, were busy preparing the pupils chosen to fight for their side in this grand tournament with some encouragement, perhaps even small threats. For many years, the territory had been disputed over. Whether it was verbal harassment or small brawls, fighting was fairly common between the two sides Nisshoku and Mikazuki. The Land, which they lived upon, was wealthy with rich iron deep within the surface. It’s certainly no mystery why the land was named the Land of Iron. Various fights broke out after this iron, family against family. Eventually these families took sides for having different beliefs on what to do with the iron. The Mikazukis' thought the iron should be sold immediately. However, certain people had to obtain workers to dig out the iron for them. They would receive most of the profit, paying their workers minimum wage of course. The Nisshokus' believed the iron should be sold immediately as well. However, they believed the money should be used to create a village for the two sides rather than the rough housing they lived in currently. What would come of this tournament if a Nisshoku or Mikazuki won? Control. A concept that would later be used by the Land of Tea, every five years a tournament would be held. For the most part, the side that won the tournament would rule the Land of Iron’s territory until the five years were up. That included what would be done with the land’s iron supply. Many objected to this crude way of settling controversy, as more fuss would just erupt as a result. Indifference ruled the way people lived. As long as people lived on, there would always be indifference. This tournament, thought up by the leader of Nisshoku, Takai, and the leader of Mikazuki, Mangetsu, was the only way of restoring a ridged peace. Well, at least for a little while. Despite the misery that would unfold upon the losing family, it only gave motivation to each standpoint to want to win the tournament for a far greater cause than a silly belief. A sense of pride. Author's Note: This takes place when the Second Hokage was in charge, I was thinking. It may be changed later on and if so, you will be informed. |

No, there was another thread for that.
I believe the actual tournament fan-fic will be posted here, and the character submissions (I don't know if Sharingan takes late entrees) were already posted in another thread, probably on this same page. |
