Well, if it's a repeat offense, a temporary ban would work. If they are so bent on putting something offensive in their signature, then they should be kicked off the site for blatantly breaking the rules. That's saying there's a temp ban function on this board, though.
As far as the activity, as the activity grows, the mod team would surely have to grow with it. If it gets fairly big, assign a few mods to specific sections, and some mods that have global privileges. Honestly, I'd start things off like Z, with a 4 line maximum text signature. If the members handled it well, maybe bump up a line, or add an image that can only be a certain length and width. Yeah, things would be a little harder to mod, however it's a privilege that can be taken away if ruined. |

Bandai does not want a ton of moderators, they also don't wan't a police force who is constantly watching everything posters do. They have had to deal with issues in the past dealing lot of abuse of forums and they rather just skip all the nonsense and keep things on topic and orderly.
Signatures were turned off after they were originally on here, so don't expect them to bring them back. There will be more moderators brought on as the site grows. |

That begs the question, though, of how many mods are active. Yeah, keeping the team small can be a good thing, if mods are fairly active. And by "fairly active" I mean posting at least every other day at the least and doing their job. Mods probably should be active members as well as the orderlies on a board, right?
So, there will be moderators added on, even though they don't want a ton of moderators? By what you've proposed that Bandai wants, they would have a force four, maybe five strong and an administrator. Mods may be added after a certain amount of members have registered, maybe? I'm not sure why exactly the signatures were turned off this particular board, but I'm sure there's a logical reasoning behind it. |

I don't expect anything to change. As soon as the board opened the signatures were on, but right away several folks started abusing it with "odd" content as well as tons of outside links. Admins quickly erased these and turned off signatures. Signature usage has always been a sensitive issue and well it appears that they just aren't going to use them.
Bandai doesn't want mods having to constantly patrol members signatures. Like I said, I don't expect the admins to change this anytime soon, or ever. |

Very few boards are able to actually keep constant patrol over their message boards including SCORE, and I wasn't inferring that in my post, as you seemed to gather.
That answered my question just fine, thank you. |
