New Tournament Formats

A new Tournament Guidelines document will be posted very soon but the basic change is that Bandai is introducing 2 new tournament formats. Here is an excerpt from the Tournament Guidelines:

Constructed (Classroom Exercises) – Each player brings with them to the location their own constructed deck utilizing cards from their own collection. The deck construction must fall within the legal rules as set forth in the rule book. Players may also bring with them a 10-card sideboard that may be used to cycle cards out of their deck in between games. (See Page 6 below.) Additionally, all cards in the deck and sideboard may only consist of cards marked as Common or Uncommon. (Rare, Super-Rare and Promotional cards are not allowed.)

Constructed (D-Ranked Mission) – Each player brings with them to the location their own constructed deck utilizing cards from their own collection. The deck construction must fall within the legal rules as set forth in the rule book. Players may also bring with them a 10-card sideboard that may be used to cycle cards out of their deck in between games. (See Page 6 below.) Additionally, all cards in the deck and sideboard may only consist of cards marked as Common, Uncommon, Rare or Promotional. (Super-Rare cards are not allowed.)

These formats are already available for new tournaments that Meijin would like to schedule.

Eeenteresting...

James, will these events have the same K-value as regular Academy Level events, and are they included in the restriction of one rated event per venue per week?

Cheers,
-Matt

wow! XD
We did a classroom Exercise LONG ago sometime in march! We called it the "Lazy Bum" format, of course we had it the EXACT same way it's explained in this topic. We did that cause we like doing fun formats (Like the last week of the month is a banned list for us)

I beleive it was once stated that the starter deck exclusive cards were considered as uncommon rarity.

This was from when they were taking votes for cards for what would go in The Chosen.

I cant wait to get this going. I will be using all these formats on a rotating bases. Week 1 only Commons and Uncommons, Week 2 no Supers, Week 3 Meijin, Week 4 Genin. SO cool and will bring alot of fun to the tournment structure.
