While I think it's great that Matt is putting together this event (the more the merrier!), I asked Kim to confirm that it's a Chunin event, and she said it will not be a Chunin event.

I think it's great to have big events in the Bay Area, but it's probably a good idea for this particular event to not be a Chunin, because it costs $15 + $40 convention pass to attend, and it would only be 1 week notice.

If Matt wants to run a normal Chunin with the standard $5 entry fee at a different time at some game store, I would definitely support that!

Also, I will definitely try to attend the tournament at KublaCon that Matt is running, even though it's not a Chunin.

One week notice? How about 2 months -_-.

$5 entrance wouldn't cover the prize money...

And the badge is just $20 for one day.

Making a tournament sanctioned means nothing anyway. Ranking never does.
