Timeline with tv series and Movie

I have watched all episodes 1-164 + TV Special and the Movie... in the movie the team of Naruto, Sasuke, Sakura, and Kakashi are there but can anyone tell me when the movie would of taken place in the time line of the Series.... I'm assuming before Sasuke went to Ochimaru for power to get revenge on his brother... but i'm wondering when Sasuke knows the Chidori Jutsu and Naruto also know Spiral in the movie, Sakura doesn't do much in the movie and she doesn't seem to use any of the new Medic ninja skills so i'm assumeing it's before but i can't find any reliable website that can tell me a accurate time line.

anyway can anyone help cause i thought the movie was ok, but confusing being as it seemed Naruto and Sasuke were about the power and skill lvl around 120 - 164.

thanks

Also not sure if anyone knew it but the voice of Naruto is a female voice actor in case anyone didn't know.

It's not unique to Naruto that movie shorts don't fit exactly into the continuity of the main show. If the show is based off a manga, as Naruto is, they're practically never based off a story from the manga. Dragonball did that too--you'll never find Garlic Jr. or Coola or Brolli in Akira Toriyama's stories.

They're also often made for more "casual" viewers--someone who may not be familiar with the main show and the intricacies of it's continuity. They try to get the "flavor" of the show around the time it was made and released, without actually fitting into it. Oftentimes, they aren't really intended to be fit into the continuity.

I haven't seen anything that hasn't been released in America at this point, so I can't really answer the question, but I hope the above does help explain why it doesn't seem to fit easily.

The one thing about the Naruto movie was that Sasuke and Naruto got along .... and i mean well sasuke even relied on Naruto.. Like i said the movie was confusing it seemed like they just wanted to make a movie and ignore the ACTUAL story lol. anyway i understand why they do that but i guess thats what i get for watching eps 1-164 and then the movie hehe.

Lots of anime do that. Some examples are the Pokemon, DBZ, Inuyasha, and Digimon movies.
