Can a water deck really be beaten at this time?
Just a question that has been stuck in my head for awhile. I remeber people talking about how much power fire has but I really do not see it at this point. So what kind of decks are people playing to stop this overwelming power?

There is no one deck that can beat everything. You will find that some decks may work very well against some, but perhaps poorly against others. Just like with any other game there is rock, sissor, and paper.

I think at this time, any well built deck can beat another well built deck. Of course the skill in knowing how to play also helps, but not until we get into more sets, more combo;s, different cards, and such. Right now the game is at it's basic's, which I am enjoying. Of course when we get more cards thing will get a bit more fun. But for now its just the basic's.

Honestly, it is not that hard. Since the Water deck relies on a bunch of damage dealing jutsu, you must attack their ability to play those jutsu.
A couple of suggestions I can offer: -Cancel/deny their jutsu through use of cards like Sharingan Eye, and Byakugan. -Many of the more powerful Water jutsu require a Jounin, so if you get rid of the Jounin, they are stuck with unusable cards. Try 8-Trigram Seal, or some of the other 'bouncing' jutsu. -Attack their chakra. A number of Water decks utilize multiple Tree Climbing Jutsu to get an ealry boost on their chakra production. If you get rid of these, you force them to use cards from hand, which limits their ability to use those jutsu on you later. -Pack healing. Cards like After the Battle, The Third Hokage, and Hinata can save your bacon if they use their jutsu on you. The strength of the Water deck is in the mid-late game, as they rely on numerous ninja that play on turn 2 or higher. If you can hit them hard and fast, then you can stack a few Battle Rewards, and thus deny them their cards further. I must admit that I am not famiiar with all the cards out there, so there may be additional denial strategies that I am not aware of, but these tactics should help you overcome your opponent. Cheers, -Matt |

I agree on the fact that water is strong at this point.. yes.
But it is not invincible I just beat one yesterday 15-0 and yes I was messing with his mind. I use a combination of lightning, earth, with a few splashes... of good characters... Water gets good mid game while my deck is weak to that it hits so hard core early on that it doesn't matter... but in the long run water will win if you have no real strategy. |
