To All Who Want a Ninja Ranking System

I believe that the powers that be would not ever want to add this feature to a CCG board that can bring in some immature audiences. The reason being that this would cause spam, and many immature members would just cause trouble trying to get their rank very high.

Not a sermon, just a thought.

Yes that is true the same would go for what we have now and anyways the mods could band them

Putting status on a user based on posts is just silly and causes more trouble than it's worth. If we could, we should have the option disabled really.

Hm...

I speak, again, as someone who has never Modded or Adminned a VBulletin board, but having adminned other kinds of boards, I have to think it would be possible to sort of do something like this:

Set one Rank, say "Member", at zero posts, and delete all the other ranks. That way everyone is just a "Member" no matter how many posts they make. I know other boards that have done that to discourage spamming to a higher level.

This wouldn't affect the Moderators and Administrators--they'd still be marked at such.

I know other boards that have done this, so it should be possible.

Administration can do that, but they have to want to do it. Maybe they will later but only they will know right now.

Still, it wouldn't help to try. Spam is annoying.

I think any user rating could cause this to some extent, but realy kid will grow tired of it when they see that it is not that special to change the words under their name.....
