The other issue is maintenance. Unless they would be like that certain online site, they'd have to constantly update for errata, ruling changes, and have a way to maintain rogue list. And what about playability? Would it be set up like the YuGiOh video games, where the effects of cards could work by themselves, or would you have to spell everything out for your opponent every turn? If they did that, it would be the same as another nameless site. Also, would it be formatted for the two competitive formats? There's a lot more to it than just putting the cards in a system, which i'm sure they don't have the manpower to make up for the biggest cost: Time.

We used to use OCTGN and MWS for testing. No one gives enough ****s to actually update and maintain those now.

Making an online version of the game is actually a Huge *** undertaking, as Sai'ix pointed out.

MTGO and Pokemon TCGO both have huge dedicated teams that work on their online division of the game. Yugioh has video games, but I don't believe there is an official online program for them, unless Dueling Network is and I just don't know that.

Bottomline, the amount of work and manpower needed to create a fully operational and streamlined online card game is quite high. The game would have to be programmed to go through the motions and automatically apply effects when you activate them and such, otherwise its a pointless product.

Yes dueling network is for yugioh. Furthermore, think of how big the community could be if we get an online narutoCG. Yes it's about the size of the community but if they are willing to make the sacrifice and time to do so. Then it could be a huge jump in demands for them. They need to expand. It's not going to be easy. But when was the best things to happen to anything easy. Maybe just starting small with a program would help. Look at it as a way of enlarging the community. The more people we have, the more money people will spend. Then we have more challengers for events such as chunin, jonin, sjc, and gencon. Sometimes you have to invest. So if they can do so we can see a good jump in the community In my opinion.

You're working in a best case scenario though. Someone has to make it, maintain it, update it, upgrade it, make sure that it works right at LEAST 95% of the time. Then they have to get paid for every minute of work they put into it. They have to make the program realize that when you play Loss, you draw two cards. But your opponent has a chance to interrupt. Honestly, the best thing I could think happen to it IF it happens would be if it got run by the guys that made the MtG Xbox Live Arcade game. Because that works beautifully.

Also, they would have to make two formats. Unlimited for players that don't like Block, and Block for those who think Unlimited is the Minors. It MAY be worth it all. But put yourself in Tylar's, or Andy's or Alex's shoes. How would you put together a pitch to make this when the actual game itself has proven to be hit and miss in regards to sales?

Your adding on too much that should be left to the players. I like how dueling network works for yugioh You don't have to play it but look how its set up. It has three formats. Rated block / unrated block/ unlimited. You play cards and ask your opponents for a response. It's also a way to test out new cards for bandai. What I like that dueling network did was put cards out that are coming out in a new set. Let the community tinker around with the cards. And see what are good and what is bad. So they can determine where their sale will be. And any mind takes that need to be fixed. I understand its hard but that business you need to make hard decision and tough work for the better of the company.

But the thing is third party sites have done just that. They made the game where you manually input everything. And tell your opponent every move. It makes the games take FOREVER. Most people want a better experience.

True but it's better to start off small then start adding in the extras. Even though dueling network has the best manual experience I've seen because everything is organized. I believe bandai can do the same. To my understanding this game has survived a long time. The only thing an online version would do is boost the game up even more. Less erratas, faster ruling, better players. Believe it or not it's a really good investment.

How would it have less erratas, faster rulings, and better players?
