The other issue is maintenance. Unless they would be like that certain online site, they'd have to constantly update for errata, ruling changes, and have a way to maintain rogue list. And what about playability? Would it be set up like the YuGiOh video games, where the effects of cards could work by themselves, or would you have to spell everything out for your opponent every turn? If they did that, it would be the same as another nameless site. Also, would it be formatted for the two competitive formats? There's a lot more to it than just putting the cards in a system, which i'm sure they don't have the manpower to make up for the biggest cost: Time.

We used to use OCTGN and MWS for testing. No one gives enough ****s to actually update and maintain those now.

Making an online version of the game is actually a Huge *** undertaking, as Sai'ix pointed out.
MTGO and Pokemon TCGO both have huge dedicated teams that work on their online division of the game. Yugioh has video games, but I don't believe there is an official online program for them, unless Dueling Network is and I just don't know that. Bottomline, the amount of work and manpower needed to create a fully operational and streamlined online card game is quite high. The game would have to be programmed to go through the motions and automatically apply effects when you activate them and such, otherwise its a pointless product. |

Also, they would have to make two formats. Unlimited for players that don't like Block, and Block for those who think Unlimited is the Minors. It MAY be worth it all. But put yourself in Tylar's, or Andy's or Alex's shoes. How would you put together a pitch to make this when the actual game itself has proven to be hit and miss in regards to sales? |

True but it's better to start off small then start adding in the extras. Even though dueling network has the best manual experience I've seen because everything is organized. I believe bandai can do the same. To my understanding this game has survived a long time. The only thing an online version would do is boost the game up even more. Less erratas, faster ruling, better players. Believe it or not it's a really good investment.
