Prepare for an avalanche of plot exposition. These chapters aren't supposed to pop up this often. Seems like we get a flashback every 10 chapters or so.

Anyone wanna guess how much stuff is going to be retconned to fit the story? I'm gonna place a bet on 2 major points, and around 8 minor ones.

In before amazingly disturbing fan fiction about the war between Madara and Hashriama starting because Hashriama wouldn't give a reach around. Seriously, the level of male tension in that room is moistening every yaoi writer for 100 miles.

I blame the fact we are "wrapping" things up (I use quotes because like you say in this same quote, there's so many conflicts and such with timeline and characters and all) so of course he must fill in history gaps, then we just finish with the climax of the war and see what happens afterwards. I'm still banking on the Sasuke dies in the end for some "sacrifice" to help Naruto win and then is honored as leaf's greatest hero or something.

Thats one of those little mysteries. The 2 best theories I heard were Orochi is waiting and biding his time before turning on sasuke with the kages, or Orochi is actually so much weaker than Sasuke now (and knows it) that he just goes along with it. Just because Orochi is strong enough to bind the kages (except first apparently) doesn't mean he is stronger than Sasuke, who now has infinite mangekyo and Orochi's tutoring.
