I wasn't talking about summoning. Just releasing souls.

Oh. After re-reading the chapter I see that the only sacrifice is that he had to cut open his own stomach.

Wouldnt the other half of Kurama come out too?

I can assume that it only pulls out what the user wants.

I'm pretty sure orochimaru would have died from that gash if he hadn't transferred himself into the zetsu clone. So in a sense, he did sacrifice himself.

I don't imagine kurama's chakra was the first thing ever sealed within the reaper, especially if there was a mask that summons him hidden away before the decline of the uzumaki clan.

In the picture you can see 5 ghostly blobs coming out of his stomach. My guess is 1 was orochimaru's arms and the other four were the Kages. If he had wanted to, I think Orochimaru could have released a lot more than that. Everything else is irrelevant though.

yup. heck a fair few of the strongest ninja in this manga have silly sides. especially from leaf village

* = assumed strong
** = "strong" but not necessarily in raw power
*** = decently strong but not on the level of the people with no *'s.

naruto = obvious

jiraiya = perverted peeping tom **** writer

kakashi = reader of said ****

hiruzen = master of the pervert

tsunade = drunken gambler with comically bad temper

kushina* = also comically bad tempered

deidara = always reacted comically to tobito being an idiot

shikamaru** = lazy *** mofo

lee and guy = goofy as hell to the point of being idiculous

anko*** = on her appearance IIRC she was compared to being a female
naruto with her inability to read the mood of a situation

hidan = his idiocy, particularly when kakuzu points it out was comical

mizukage = reacts comically when you mention relationships or her age

i mean basically from the get go this manga has shown that personality =/= combat ability.

besides, the people i listed, generally (few exceptions) dont act that way when actually in battle. who cares if hashirama is being a bit silly if he's not even in battle mode. im sure if he was fighting, **** would get serious super fast.

the ability to show emotion and crack a smile doesn't effect your ability to control tailed beasts, defeat madara, or found a village

ignoring most else of what you said simply because i dont want to restart a pointless argument that i didnt even arrive on time for, to be fair this could have been solved simply by you saying something to that effect from the beginning instead of both you and the other side basically saying

"this is what my opinion of badass is"

"thats not right"

"yes huh"

"nuh uh"

"yes huh"

"nuh uh"

for a few pages. just my two cents. clearly both sides had a different idea of what makes a badass.

i only call you out on it since you actually said what you said in the quote and clearly acknowledge that this was all 100% opinion based. but both sides are equally guilty

That isn't even what was happening. What happened was, I stated my opinion, then someone else stated their opinion. After that, I merely stated why I disagree. I never said "this is the only right way" nor did I imply anything of the sort. It is called a discussion, and that's what people do, they present their ideas and the reasons behind them. There isn't anything wrong with that. Heck, we even agreed to disagree, and nobody even got angry (nobody that was part of the discussion anyway), so I fail to see any problem with what happened.

You guys act as if this concept of very strong characters having childlike characteristics and qualities is a new thing for a Shonen series.

No, they act as if it is a new thing for the 1st Hokage, which it is. He was nothing like that when Orochimaru reanimated him the first time. We also didn't get any hint of it from any flashback he appeared in. Everything we've seen of him before this showed him as a mature, serious, powerful adult.

It's not a big deal, it's just a change that appeared out of nowhere and doesn't really fit with any of our preconceptions of him.

You guys act as if precedent and flow of time are actually relevant in this series.
