Much as I detest unlimited, this is probably a good idea. You'll have access to literally all cards (including new ones) that aren't banned so you can get familiar with a lot of the games concepts, play style, and generally how everything goes. Then, once you're confident you know what you are doing, you can move on to block format and build a block legal deck (and from there go to a tourney sometime even)
Welcome to the boards! It seems my guide has already been linked to you, read it well, and enjoy your stay.

This is fine, but when your ready head over to block format, don't let the evilness of unlimited drag u down like it has so many of our fallen comrades

Unlimited is much more fun; especially now that Anbu is banned (even though there is still work to be done).

Medical Unlimited is crazy because you get access to Rules for Medical Ninjas or that other Medical Ninja mission card that lets you swing through for free BRs (can only be blocked by medical)... awesome deck with a great curve and huge draw power.

Thanks alot! And i did notice some of those earlier medical cards. Wish i'd play'd back then, i'm trying to learn some strats for decks right now from scouring the forums. if anyone would like to share their knowledge please feel free to e-mail me at SunicMitsarugy*gmail.com. I love strategy and I'd like to be a defensive player. Thanks again for all your guys support, great to see the community is still strong in this game. Advice on buying cards? I was gonna buy some booster packs, so right now i'm looking through all the cards in sets 22 to 25? I think those are the current block legal

Naruto is a surprisingly complex game at times. However, since you are rather limited in what you are able to do, it is also possible to excel at everything, and this is usually when you know you have a good deck in my opinion.

You mentioned you were having issues with guys that hit your chakra. There are a few ways to deal with this. The first is that you should be playing a mission every turn from t2-7, or even t17+, and possibly counter missions too. This will get you a lot of chakra. It's also important to play ninja's that draw you cards or get you chakra as well. Once you get the hang of this you will find that guys that eat chakra aren't as bad.

That said, it's also important to have guys that give you field presence. Even if you don't have chakra, if your ninja's demand an answer from your opponent and all they can do is eat at your chakra, they will run into problems. So try to think up some cool strategies that will force your opponent to respond to them. See how that goes, revise, and keep building . GL!
