I was referring to the projectile weapons when I said weapons. That much should have been obvious due to context. of course there are useful weapons. asuma's chakra blades. zabuza's sword. etc. but that isn't what we were talking about.

and I already said that about lee. He is better at taijutsu overall, but against the puppets, if you can't destroy them, it doesn't matter. which is why I said he'd need to use the gates.

The fact that sakura's poison kept them alive, and that she is capable of more damage to the puppets than lee is (pre-gates at least) is why I think she was a decent choice. People like tenten would have been much worse choices, that's all I'm saying.

Tenten uses a weapon hurricane that includes short swords. Also, she has a gigantic spiked ball that would crush puppets, not just disassemble them like Sakura's punches.
