nobody with a favorite character of any kind usually likes them for their usefulness. More often than not, it's their attitude/personality that people like. That's why I liked Itachi (pre-edo tensei. now he's lame.) and why I like Jiraiya.

Kankuro I can see. She did her job as mediocre medical ninja well. But if Chiyo had used any other ninja, I don't think she would be dead. Realistically, Tenten would have been a better choice. Ranged attacked instead of physical. And since Sakura wasn't the best at Taijutsu, Lee would have also been better.

Asinine. Father and Mother were little more than shields. Sakura smashed Hiruko, deflected the iron sand and hit Sasori with the seal. Even if that was all she did, that's more useful than Father and Mother. All they did was take hits and then become immobile.

Staying out of the way just makes Tenten more useless.

if you want to talk "realism", sakura's punches do much more damage than lee's. lee would have been better able to dodge, it's true, but unless he used gates, sakura is capable of more actual damage (albeit she lands hits much less often.)

Also, lee would have died from the poison most likely.

also, weapons do virtually nothing to puppets, so tenten couldn't possibly have been useful in that battle.

I mean, I'm not one to say that sakura is amazing, but if you are going to say she wasnt useful, at least have a real reason.

Lee doesn't hit as hard, but he has better technique and mastery of taijutsu. Also, weapons finished off Sasori, if you remember right. Swords went through his "heart".

Father and Mother were used to kill Sasori. Sakura threw Chiyo's technique. You are giving her WAYYY more credit than she deserves. She smashed a wood body. Whee...

Tenten doesn't use swords. so I fail to see how that is a valid point.
I was referring to the projectile weapons when I said weapons. That much should have been obvious due to context. of course there are useful weapons. asuma's chakra blades. zabuza's sword. etc. but that isn't what we were talking about.

and I already said that about lee. He is better at taijutsu overall, but against the puppets, if you can't destroy them, it doesn't matter. which is why I said he'd need to use the gates.

The fact that sakura's poison kept them alive, and that she is capable of more damage to the puppets than lee is (pre-gates at least) is why I think she was a decent choice. People like tenten would have been much worse choices, that's all I'm saying.
