and book, and self conversation, and new orders, and shadow of the leaf.
you know, all that mission negate?
(for the record, the errata does not "stop" them, it basically means now if you negate JI, the ninja that was put in play with it now gets discarded too, no matter what)
I think some people will still run a couple to do stuff like flashpoint Sasori, WV Kakashi, or Kabutoolbox, but for the most part that deck won't see nearly as much play with pakkun in nearly every sideboard.
The combo where you play JI, then use to negate it? The same combo that can be pulled off with any of the aforementioned mission negate works as well?
Or is there some other combo i'm missing here? Cause the only other Block Legal Pakkuns are the mill and Kakashi Reducer.

pre errata you could go t2 pakkun ji into whatever jonin finish the turn on opponents turn pakkun your ji away and keep the jonin out

So in other words, the exact combo I mentioned?
I do not get how you all read and even quote my posts, yet twist/misunderstand/flat out ignore what I say? No really, lets back this up, you guys either missed something, or are stupid, and out of sheer exhaustion over most posts lately, i'm just gonna assume the former:

Now see, this post is basically saying "The errata basically only stops the pakkun combo, the one we all know, the one that was used, and only that one"
Thing is tho:

I mention that not only Pakkun, but ANY of the mission negates in format could achieve this combo (Well, could have since the errata now stops these combos in any way, shape, or form) and then casually also toss in that the mission can still be negated, the errata just prevents them from keepin a T4+ ninja out by turn 1-3

Have now mentioned the (ONCE AGAIN, OBVIOUS) combo and simply restate the fact that said combo can be (Well, now COULD have been) done with annnnyyyy of the cards listed.
Pakkun, Book, Convo, Shadow, and Orders were all perfectly able to negate a JI and keep your jonin out as early as Turn 2
Okay, now is it all clear? My main point was that pre-errata, any mission negate (not just pakkun) could achieve that combo. Again though, it really doesn't matter because the errata stops it. Which is good. Not for the card or it's decks, but the game itself IMHO

JI is a -3 to Hand. Average Mission Negation Missions are a -2. That's a total of -5; in theory, you lost the equivalent of almost a whole hand. That +1 matters.

the jonin you put in play should be making up for the -1 to hand, either by gaining you something or hindering your opponent. 1 card doesn't make that much difference, especially when it means you don't lose your turn 2 ninja.
I'm not getting into the hand advantage argument though. Oldest and most annoying argument around.

There is a huge difference between -1 from Hand and +1 to field. With that logic, the Ninja put in play by JI makes up for Pakkun and deploying a Ninja is not a -1 from Hand.
