Lightning became bad when rotation happened. It's good in combo with fire, and toads now seem to have some potential, but I don't see lightning going anywhere.

Judging from the poll results so far, it seems some people consider an element strong if it has a lot of splashable cards (like fire) while others have voted based on which element is strong in a mono-element deck (which makes more sense in relation to the question of the poll). The results are hardly objective because of that, the question should have been more specific and clear.
Personally I voted lightning, but I regretted it afterwards. If we look at it in terms of mono-element synergies and strength, earth, wind and void (after set 27 becomes legal) are on top, if we look at it in terms of splash cards, fire and lightning are in the lead. |

Fire is the most splashable.
But so is void, void/water is a contender. Water itself is stupid, with the new reprints and the set in general. Water is gonna be a good element to fight with and might be in top 8 for our chunins. Void kisame is just dam op. |

Water, as seen from testing, hasn't done much. The new cards look great in theory, but are actually not that good. Especially with Mission negation in format. Earth overwhelms it with early Jutsu and Mental Power. We're still testing it but it doesn't look good.
