Something that should've been considered over offing Growth was to use some foresight in what got Growth and whether additional effects should be a put in play or Deploy/Growth only.
Beyond Sakura's/Shikamaru's Decision, I don't think Konohamaru Ninja Squad would be as busted if the reveal and add effect only happened on Growth. It's still crazy playable/near staple status even without the add and reveal. I don't think Growth is fundamentally broken. It just could've been retooled or had some more thought put into it. However this was back in set 18 times so most things were dumb. Seriously, that recent ambush Kisame where you get extra effects if you Deploy from hand was a great way to deter Ambush's benefits but gave you options. Mastery should really cost more than 1... I'm cool with Surge on its own. Dancing Leaf Lee got me an ov because he's so awesome he had Growth AND Surge. It was the support that made it dumb. |

I forgot about that. But without an effect that turns Growth coins into a win condition, it's either too lame or too good. They didn't really find a good middle ground.

because growthing makes the ninja stronger and chakra than just chakra, why I still growthed the guard of the prince ninjas when that was our block.

Or you could use it as a handcost for a mission or ninja. Or wait until it dies and redeploy it for it's effect again.

I'm not purposely going to lose tempo on curve to deploy a ninja again, I'm going to try and build them up to be stronger.
