Discard v.s. Removed from play

is discarding a ninja the same as removing it play?

ex.n-1373 makes a token and i use n-1511 using the token as my ninja to discard, will n-1373's effect trigger when the token leaves play?

ex. If I play n-1441 and use m-922 and discard him, will his effect activate?

Yes, if an in-play Ninja is discarded, that Ninja is being removed from play.

ex1. does not make tokens.
ex2. Yes.
