Nagato [N-1205] Early?
Are there any good ways to get to the field early? I know that, if the Pain Deck is designed for it, and working well, you can fudge with your turn marker, and get it up to the required 7 rather quickly, and maybe shenanigan your opponent's down a bit, while you are at it, but in a game where many high-EC Ninjas can hit the field rather early, it surprises me that I can't think of any for this one.
My usual "good" plans don't work because, as is so often the case, this Ninja lacks a rank (a fact that forever makes me hate Huge Difference, even when the Pain Brigade would pwn the Fish), so I can't cheat down his EC that way. If I splash Lightning, 4 Times Faster might work, but I really don't like that Mission, as my enemy is often just as capable of dropping something terrifying, early. None of the Akatsuki or Rinnegan stuff seems capable of getting around EC. Any thoughts would be much appreciated. Getting Nagato out early could make the Pain Deck work cheesy, if he doens't get biffed by something. Thanks. |

is a good choice: since at t3 if you haven't Nagato in the hand, you can put in play and lock up your opponent turn marker..

With , how would you put Nagato into play, since it mentions that it affects another played Ninja, that turn? My Void Deck is mostly Void/Wind, but I could sneak some Water in, if I know how to get Training to do the job.

Put in play Kankuro [I Won't Let You] on turn 2. You'll be able to filter through the deck for Nagato or DevaPath. Make sure you have Kankuro's Tenacity in the chakra area to increase the entrance cost by two. On turn 3 play training in the rain and decrease any ninjas entrance cost by 4. Profit.

Because anything that lets me dodge Sacrifice, and get some of the higher EC Pains out on time, without HAVING to have something else to eat for their Sac can help. If I got Nagato out on turn 4, I could get something out on 5, and more easily deploy is a good thing. I often wish that there were ways to play something, and then immediately sac it for a Pain, but I have to have planned something else out, and then not lost it, in the meantime. Nagato can sort of circumvent that, and my only real problem would be that he's a higher EC than all of the others; I could already have Deva out, before I can even play Nagato, and then I care SLIGHTLY less.
