You've already been given a good reason. "instead" means the cards with revitalize never went to the discard pile, which means they weren't discarded for yamato's effect and his condition for drawing a card isn't satisfied.

He's still a good card. I would still run 2-3 in earth if I was running that deck. It's a filter. It gets rid of the non-revitalize cards so you can effectively use spontaneous tree summoning.

I agree that the current ruling on Yamato requires them to look at a bunch of other rulings and confirm whether they need to be updated (giant eagle, naruto, etc.), but that isn't going to happen when you keep posting the same stupid questions over and over.

well it was ruled that costs work with replacement effects, the eagle one i dont think it works but its only a minor annoyance the more i thought about it the more i realized the chance of the cards not going off were getting slimmer 50 card deck say 10-15 of the cards are revitalize that still leaves a good chance the effects will go off

How is ruling against replacement effects a "good reason" when every other like card effect supports replacement effect? Then he changes what a replacement effect does and doesn't rerule every replacement effect that now shouldn't work. He would've done better just to give n1499 Yamato an errata. But that would've been too difficult
