This makes me think that Kakashi couldn't have killed Rin.

exactly. The only other theory I can think is that perhaps rin asked him to kill her for some reason, as per the 'dont let the opponents have your intel' thing? I can't see him making that choice of his own volition, so there is obviously some extenuating cir****tance.

actually, via further examination, I noticed something.

Rin looks surprised at kakashi's actions, so it's possible that he THOUGHT she was possessed, and yet it was transformed someone else that he DIDN'T see through. idk. at this point, I'm out of theories. Her being surprised refutes my other hypothesis, so I just don't know at this point. waiting a week is going to suck.

It seems like Madara probably played a very large role in this, Obito said he wasn't coming back, and madara is not stupid he knows obito loves rin, so what better way to get Obito back than making him want to get revenge on Kakashi. Obito wouldnt have it done it there because he knows Kakashi is stronger. Altough I have no idea what Madara could have done to get Kakashi to kill Rin :/

I see people saying "what if rin is possesed or a fake?"........what if the kakashi is the fake?

or what if they are both fakes just to get obito stirred up?(although this i doubt)

I have the bad feeling that it was a concious decision, why else would kakashi in previous chapters ask if obito blamed him for what happened to rin.

I think obito might jump into the situation, neither will recognize him, and when he tries to explain who he is, they will try to make him go away and call him a liar because they "know" he died. Thus making him feel like "nobody" and that there is no reason to return to the village (on top of the love of his life dying).

Maybe kakashi and rin are being forced to fight to the death by their opposers.

Lol more possibilities, very unlikely as they may be, danzo or orochimaru are involved.

at least with me, the important part isnt that someone is possessed, simply that in the first post it seemed like the only thought process was "its a trick" or "evil rin" or something along those lines. i was simply showing that there are many more possibilities. im not certain what i believe atm, but im not really sold on her, or kakashi, being possessed. i was simply opening some minds. well, directly at least. im sure some amount of manipulation is involved, whether its a genjutsu or some good ol fashioned ninja trickery.

though, unless this involves some madara and/or orochimaru shenanigans, theres no way that kakashi isnt real, what with the tears and stuff. the rin could be fake and she could be surprised that kakashi found them out or something. in which case he could be crying because rin was already dead.

and even if you know its a fake, attacking and killing someone who looks like your closest living friend hasnt got to feel good. soa double reason for tears since he literally let her down since she's dead, and metaphorically killed her what with killing someone/thing that looks just like her.


EDIT: *sigh* if it all WAS a trick, we're gonna have a BS obito realizes the error of his ways and turns on madara, sacrificing himself to defeat him and "redeem" himself in his last moment isnt he.

I think that they were surrounded and knew that they were outmatched. Then the leader of their enemies said that Kakashi had to kill his kunoichi teammate in order for him to survive possibly. Remember what Kakashi told Naruto, Sasuke, and Sakura during the first bells challenge? That they have to work together as a team or one day they could be forced into a situation like that. That's why I think they were crying, because there were no fakes/possessed people. Though I think Madara had some involvement too so who knows haha!

Interesting development here. I can see Madara using genjutsu on Obito to convince him of this. Its not like Madara is an idiot and would leave out details like a tear drop or something of that nature.

it could also be a Zetsu clone as rin being killed too.


I want to see it as rin being killed by Kakashi though lol.

This makes alot of sense to me. I think that the key to Madara's involvment may be the fact that he was awake when obito tried to leave. it may be that Madara used his mangekyo to put a tsukuyomi on obito to make him think that kakashi killed rin, the same way that itachi made sasuke think that he had removed one of his eyes via tsukuyomi.
