This manga, at it's barest and most base, is about a kid who has gone through hell his entire life, but refuses to give up, and has a dream that he won't let anyone get in the way of. It isn't about wars, or Ninjas, or Jutsu, or anything like that. It's about the growth of Naruto Uzumaki.
What does this have to do with Obito then? He is the perfect person to place opposite of Naruto. Throughout the manga, Naruto has encountered people who share similar qualities in him one way or another, though who usually have gone bad for one reason or another. Gaara shared a similar past to Naruto, though much worse, and became a villain because of it. Of course, Naruto was able to redeem him. The same can be said for Nagato, who's intentions were peace, but at a terrible cost.
Unfortunately, this simply means that Obito is another character who's intent is something they seem to think is Good, but ultimately seems bad because of the venue they choose to take in order to reach that point. Obito's sacrifice was ultimately in vain, Rin still died in the end, and that made him bitter. Was that the sole reason? No, more things had to happened, and I think we'll learn more this upcoming chapter. Obito is Naruto gone wrong, grown bitter, and willing to do whatever, no matter the consequences, in order to achieve his own personal peace. No more wars, no more fighting, no friends dying. Moon's Eye Plan is Human Instrumentality, the joining of all people into a single peaceful dream where pain no longer exists, and everyone is happy. Naruto has learned though through Nagato and others that pain is a necessary part of living. You can't have just the good and not any bad.

I mean alot of what you posted is right on with the essence of the series, cept for when he dies or presumably dies Rin and Kakashi makes it out alright so at that time he didnt know otherwise so how can he rage because of that.
The only reason why I don't want Tobi to be Obito is because of the time frame Kakashi was 13 at the time of Gaiden he's about 30 now
Based on the Naruto wikia subtract 16 the age of Naruto and marking the beginning of the series Kakashi is 14 leaving roughly a 1 year difference so in that short time he has a growthspurt making him the height he is now, he had an incredible power boost to where he's on equal footing with Minato.
As it is shown Obito has no real merit to have change that much personality wise so we'll have to wait until tomorrow to see what explaination Masashi has to Obito change so much, again we haven't seen what happened in that incredibly short time frame.
Also won't mind it being Obito if there is a reasonable explaination and real timeframe for all these events pre-Naruto
