Disappearing question

I was just wondering what happened to TPs and Tins? The consensus seems to be they're gone for good (how come?), but one guy told me they're coming back this set. Also, how come mechanics like Surge and Growth and Clients have disappeared? Thanks for any and all replies guys!

I can't say much about the TP's and Tins (company policy, sorry). However Surge was a pretty bad mechanic that was rarely used unless it had effects to support it like in Set 18 so that was phased out. Growth was too good of an effect that made it so put in play effects would have to cease. Prime example of a card with Growth that made it overpowered is KNS. It allowed you to use extra copies of a card in your Hand to get +1 Chakra, +1/+1 on a Ninja, and net another cool effect. There weren't really any Clients in the series until now I believe.

From what I know, after the game took a rough turn Bandai decided to stop producing future TPs and tins until the game picked back up. They probably won't be coming back this set, but sales indicate Bandai might start pumping more money into this game again?

Surge, Growth, Mastery, and Ambush have been phased out in favor of the new mechanics we're seeing introduced this set, but clients are here to stay. A few were reprinted in the last TP4 and I have a strange hunch we'll see some new ones in the next few sets.

Personally, I think mechanics like Growth and Mastery are good for the game as long as their distribution is limited. Growth is only busted if it's on every copy of every low drop with PiP effects and Mastery is... fun. I really hope we get to see general mechanics distributed evenly across all elements in the future instead of typecasting roles for each element based on which new mechanic they got. But that's not what we're discussing. /post

So much like.

Tylar had at one point been like "Clients can just be replaced by Perm Missions right?" He has since seen the error of his ways

Reference:I believe it was a Tylars corner?
