movie prequel chapter spoilers

So I'm having trouble placing this chapter (and movie) somewhere along the Naruto timeline. My only guess is that this chapter and movie are part of some alternate naruto universe or just completely not canon; a chance for Kishimoto to do some things differently.

Thoughts?
