Gift of Pain, Growthing and Sacrifice

If Gift of Pain is in play and you proceed to growth a ninja, can you sacrifice the ninja you are growthing and thus not have it go to your chakra area?

From what I could find you first put the ninja in play, put a growth coin on it and only then send the other ninja to the chakra area, so how does all this work out with this mission in play?

In order to activate growth, you would still have to pay the Sacrifice cost. If you pay the Ninja being growthed, then Growth wouldn't occur. The entire game would rewind to before you ever tried to growth.

Short answer: no you cannot.

Thanks. So basically you either pay the Growth cost first sending the ninja to the Chakra area and then Sacrifice another.

I guess the Growth mechanic ruling needs to be worded better then, because the way it's worded it implies that you first put the new ninja in play, place a Growth coin on it and only then send the other ninja to the Chakra area. With Sacrifice mechanic requiring that you first sacrifice a Ninja before the new ninja card goes into play, it leads to this kind of confusion.
