I can squad childhood naruto and the fourth hokage into "naruto uzumaki & the fourth hokage" to damage my opponent field on turn 7, then reinforce that squad into naruto uzumaki sage mode?

That is a viable play, yes, as all squads are considered to have both names of the Ninjas that are on them.
