Removing Head Ninja's

I have a team n709 as a head ninja and n902 as my back ninja send them out to attack and my opponent blocks with n1058 as head ninja and n809 as back ninja. During the exchange of jutsu I have n709 use j589 on his n1058.

Question: What happens to the back ninja? "n809"

2.) What happens when there are two back ninjas after the head ninja gets removed/discarded?

3.) When n678 is sent out to attack do I get to choose the ninja or does my opponent?

1) It remains as a back Ninja since it was sent out to battle. N-809 still adds its Support to the team.

2) Both remain as back Ninjas and add their support to the total team power.

3) You get to choose since the card doesn't explicitly state that your opponent chooses.
