Did you miss the part where Manda's timing window is either player's entire turn? An effect that can be used at any time to negate anything, that prevents your opponent from responding both because it removes itself as its cost and because its effect locks the chain, and comes back every turn is WAY too powerful for this game.

Did you miss the part where, until the animal deck was big Manda had no complaints? A T7 recursion where most games ended by then. Add Kushina in the mix so you can start it at T5 and own the game from then on. THEN Manda started getting complained about. I never remember a T7 ninja being THIS bashed.

Because it's always been about speed, and games being over within 6 turns or less...now that we have cards to lower EC and even HC now, ninjas without CRAZY power or effects early game, and not too many over powering jutsus that win games early, suddenly this "eh" card is kind of "hmmm...". He really isn't that big of a deal as long as Monkey King doesn't exist or Kushina.

No my dear sir. Manda was worried about WHEN it was previewed. People complained its effect was too powerful, and made Kakashi/4th Look bad. Kakashi/4th sees no play because you have to give up two ninjas, both with handcosts majority of the time, and pay 3 chakra for its effect. Manda just RFG'd itself, and could be brought back.

Manda was also complained about because it came back from RFG. I remember.
