Except this game is not a job. MOST people play games because they are fun. Not for a paycheck. If you are comparing the game to mowing the grass then I don't see why you play in the first place.

Unless I'm missing something, I think the plan is to increase the total amount of prizing, but spread it among more locations. The idea is to try and get a more overall player base in several smaller venues as opposed to trying to make people travel which a lot of them just can't, and then gradually build on them. It does hurt the veteran players a bit since it gives them less motivation, but if it lets the game branch out to more players, that is better in the long run. If players don't need to travel far then I don't see why they wouldn't go to the event anyway.
