Scenario: My opponent and I each have two ninjas on the field. If I were to deploy a ninja with "Sacrifice: 1 Ninja or Client", pay it's cost, then chain with , would I receive the mission's effect, since my new ninja isn't yet in play? Or would I not pay the cost until the ninja is actually put in play?

You would get the Mission's effect.
