My Very Long FL SJC Report
So the weekend started pretty nice with us gathering at Valentine's house friday night for some hanging out GTO style. We said we werent going to play naruto or even speak about it the whole night, but of course we did. After picking up Jerry and Dennis from the airport we all ate pizza and scrambled to find cards scattered in the house. Played around with Val's wind deck against Dennis' TBM deck. It was cool, we left and went to Colin's house and crashed for the night.
I ran Mono-Wind, almost sucked up and ran FL Toads, but I decided against it due to EVERYONE ON OUR TEAM RUNNING IT lol. I thought this was solid enough: 3x Gaara of the Desert (Childhood) 3x Temari (Excellent T) 2x Shino Aburame (IW) 2x Cursed Warrior 2x Ino (Triage) 2x Crow 3x Advisor of the Sand 1x Ino (Easygoing) 1x Sakura (Reliance) 1x Naruto (Reiliance) 3x Tobi (MoM) 3x Chiyo (MoP) 1x Baki 2x Sasori (Chibi) Missions: 3x Entrustment 2x Kankuro's Puppet Show 2x Ino's Tears 2x Loss 2x Comp Strenght 2x Sakura's Desire Jutsu: 3x Hydro Pump 2x Wind Scythe 3x Elemental Defence Sideboard: 2x Reflection (Mission) 2x Sasuke (Freezing eyes) 1x Comp Strength 3x Perfect Chakra Control 1x Kiba (Wild Fang) 1x Ino (Playful) So we start the day: Round 1: Jay (Local) with Mono-Fire Dogs 1-0-0 He and I testplayed my deck for rush, so we were dissapointed to be paired up. Game 1: He hits pretty decent, turns 1-3 go well, I honestly sat there with my temari stalling till I got a decent set up. Turn three (I went 2nd) i play Sakura, healing my injured Advisor, and Hydro Pump him and drop him bellow 4 dogs. He plays it out till I comp his Kakashi Trump Card, & sasori puppet mode hits em with Hydro again. Game 2: I side Ino (Playful) for (Easygoing), two Sasukes for Sasori, and Refliections for Desires. Game one went on forever, so around turn three I have playful Ino that I growthed out of Triage, a Reflection in play, and a Sasuke in hand. Time is called, I wipe his field with Sasuke and proceed to Hydro Pump with Sasuke (I had Advisor also), he scoops. Round 2: Georgia Kid (sorry, cant remember the name), Earth-Wind 1-1-0 Game 1: He goes first, and Hydro Pumps me on his turn four, killing my set up for turn four. Game 2: K, so this guy drops a turn 0, and missed the next two drops. I play IW exactly for this reason and swarm him to death. Game 3: Im irritaded that he wins the die roll lol. It usually means he wins. I make a crucial mistake, by playing Kankuro's Puppet Show after he misses his drop, hoping to even out the turn diffrence. Dumb idea...... He just redeployed and i lost a ninja..... Round 3: TWIN! From Brads (Dunno what you ran bro) 2-1-0 I honestly cant remember this round. He missed his drops and mulled both games, I didnt get to see what he was playing. He played a temari, but it goes in every deck nowadays lololololol. Round 4: Nick Wood - Fools Rush Updated 3-1-0 Game 1: I know what hes playing, so I simply stall and block correctly, negating his early OVs with my jutsu and avoiding them with Temari. I Heal turn three, and get a Pump off that turn. Game 2: I dodge a bullet when he mulls to five, and plays Ino Charm as his zero. I follow with Temari, Gaara, Reflection and Advisor. By then, its turn three and he still cant attack due to Reflection. I Naruto for a second Reflection, and follow up with Freezing Eyes Sasuke. All due fairness, he missed drawing on both Miroku and Comps. Round 5: Jaime "Princess Shirt" Nives - True Allies 4-1-0 Game 1: He plays really tense lol, like his life depended on it. He freaked when he tobi and discards a Fourth Hokage, and I guessed that he was playing True Allies lol. I Tempo him even though he went first. I comp his sakura after he pays the cost. He also ran State one Kidomaro, reinforced it, and played Will of the youth, neat tech. He activates state 2, and pays the cost, and I send it back to his hand with Kankuro's Puppet Show. He does the same with Naruto (TA) and it gets KPS'ed. Lol he scoops. Game 2: This was actually hilarious, I didnt show him a Hydro all of game one, and I tell em im too poor to own one, I finally get em to laugh. I side in Ino (Playful) cause I know the State 2 tech. When I growth out of Triage, and play Advisor, he gives a relieved look. Lol he underdrops for his tech and tries to Reinforce. He reads it and is like, ohhhhhh lol. I KPS one of his ninjas, and hes down two turns at the time. He drops Will of the Youth though. Im like, shyyyytt........ I keep playing though. Eventually on like turn 40, I swarm him and hes not afraid of the Hydro Pump so he block all of my teams. He plays some jutsu and I simply surge/negate it. He doesnt have the chakra for another, so I OV his team, make him pick up a ninja for Sasori and he scoops. Round 6: Chris Linton - Mono-Fire 5-1-0 (Best Game 3 Ever) Game 1: I mull to five, and miss out on turn one. He tempos really **** hard and gets me with a simple Dragon Fire jutsu for an OV, followed by an Interuption against my only draw card. At this point, I dont have a set up, and I can really win without it. Game 2: I decide it was all bad luck, and I take out the (Easygoing) for a third Comp. This time, I went first, and everytime he tried to draw, I would respond. Booksmarts got Comp'ed, KNS got KPS'ed, and his expensive *** Dragon jutsu took and Elemental Defense. Game 3: I win the die roll, like literally THE FIRST DIE ROLL ALL DAY. I am so happy. He hits me with tempo, but I noticed that he sided in a buch of cards, so im afraid of more early game cards due to time and knowing Linton's play style. I block almost everything, avoiding early BRs. He Freezing eyes on my five, but I have Advisor and Ino Triage out, so he hits a lonely gaara I didnt want to squad (I saw Narrow Escape game one). He attacks, and I bait him into using a Chidori on a low team, he doesnt fall for it, but by his expression I know he has it. So next turn I charge down to play an HP, and he blocks, i surge and negate his response to my HP. Lol he drifts for zero (LOL YOU CAN DO THAT?!?) and tries attacking a few turns later, but I negate his last dragon jutsu and he scoops. So Top Cuts are the next day, and im paired up with Garfield. We went out to T.G.I's and the rich people went across the street to some expensive jerk restaurant lol. We had fun. Top 8 Round one - Garfield Earth/Hand Control Game 1: I hate this card. It has a twelve year old girl naked taking a shower on it. I should report it as innapropriate so it gets removed from stores or something (jk). I hate training in the moonlight. Overpowered. He hits my hand pretty hard after going first. and follows up to completely destroy the last card in my hand with his jutsu. Game 2: I hate this other card. Since when do people die from getting hit my pedals. I was so terrified of the card all game long. I had spent all my negates to keep my hand intact, that by the time I had the Hydro Pump, I had no responses to counters. Eventually I had to keep drawing hoping for a Surge ninja, due to the fact that I knew he had negates (He picked them up with Anbu Yamato). I decked out, without drawing any surge ninjas, and I lost. The experience was fun, its not everyday you get to hang around peeps from Cali or Miami/Coral Springs. I dont regret losing in top, I didnt make any mistakes, he just had a better matchup. The mat for Finalists looks crazy good BTW. I was happy that I topped with a deck there was so much hate for. Anyways, peace. |
