Need some Commander (EDH) questions clarified

Our local has decided to hold our first Commander/EDH tournament. I could use some help clearing a few things up before we actually hold the event. I'm not a Magic player so if some of these are obvious to you, please don't be harsh.

1) nvm on this one

2) Should your Commander be in a sleeve the same color as the deck?

3) How does a multiplayer tournament work? Let's say 16 people show up. Would round one consist of 4 games of 4, then the winner from each plays in round 2? is it single elimination?

4) Is multiplayer played in teams or free for all?

As far as 2) is concerned... yes. Since it can go into the deck it would need the same sleeve.

3) and 4) ... unless someone has usable guidelines, I say make your own?

I look forward to playing, if we make it up there that weekend.
I have a lovely deck idea in mind. n__n

Also... anyone got any advice on 3) and 4)? Could use some clarification.

that means I can't use my silver sleeves . I only have 80.

I liked the idea of using a different color for my general.

3. Commander is a one-round game. Anyone who meets a loss condition is eliminated, and anyone that meets a win condition gets the win. There can be multiple winners.

4. Commander can be played as free-for-all, as teams, or as X amount of players versus Y amount of players (as long as Y has some sort of advantage/incentive where Y<X).
