asuma without his knives

win or lose, against just about everyone else hidan at least wouldn't have had his fighting style compromised. its almost not fair. its like he's fighting his natural enemy. i mean he would be in for a tough fight no matter what, but its a heck of a lot easier to come up with a winning scenario for hidan when he

A) fighting a predominately close range fighter, of which there are plenty in this tier <zabuza, lee, neji, asuma, kiba, naruto>

B) actually has access to his curse

but here? a mid ranged highly defensive fighter who can control the terrain and has a wide area of attack <to the point of being able to attack you from literally any direction>

he's basically just a guy with an odd scythe and above average stats.

that would in no way hinder shikamaru as he would be able to get you from literally anywhere. he could use the entire blackness. I believe what you meant is shikamaru in a room with NO blackness, i.e. a bright light from every direction with no objects.

not if the room were made outta glass with large enough lights shinning from all from 16 directions then it would be impossible to create a shadow.
unless he's completely broken like that Witch Arete who can create shadows from under her sleeves.

um...actually no. if there are lights from every direction, shadows are an impossibility. if there were lights shining from every direction, and you held up a concrete orb in the center of the room, there wouldn't be a shadow from the ball, OR your arm.
