4/17/06 Myke`s Future Card of the Day: The Third Hokage (#44)

Welcome to the FCOTD...Bandai says that they will release their 2nd US set in July, rumors have it named "Coil of the Snake" or something similar to that. So with perhaps 140+ cards in that set as well, i figure i may as well spoil 1 card a day, from japanese set 3 and 4 (as often as i can) up until the release of the 2nd US set. Hence "FUTURE".

This is not in the Path to Hokage forum, since this is talking about a set after it.

On with the show:

Effect: [Chuunin Exam Begins]
When this comes into play, Each player must discard 3 "genin" or lower rank ninja.

Translation Note: This seems really overpowered, Bad Translation is possible, perhaps saying "each player must discard anything lower then a gennin", but then the card is really underpowered. Since this is a Super Rare, im going with the more powerful translation.

Ruling Note: Some battles will be "intellect" battles, where instead of using attack power, you add together the teams "intellect" value instead. Other then that, battle victory/outstanding victorys are determined the same way except using intellect instead.

Thoughts: Remember when i said there wouldnt be many "reset buttons" in Naruto. I think i was wrong. This seems really good. It is semi limited in scope, in that it only effects Gennin and lower. So he`d only clear the field minor threats when he came out. By turn 6, both player should be dropping many ninjas higher then a gennin class. Still, his effect to clear off the puny ninjas is pretty cool.

Could you do a Card of the Day for Path to Hokage as well? CotD's of the second set are helpful, but it's not due out for 3 months, where as the 1st set is out in 11 days. Just like your chase card thread it'd be very interesting to hear what your thoughts are on some of the cards that are staples to decks but not neccesarily chase cards.

MykeXero already does a card of the day but it is in the path to hokage board. he doesnt do it every day but the cards he does are pretty helpful

Oopps, sorry about that, I don't know how I missed that I did 2 searchs and didn't come up with anything so...again sorry. thanks for pointing that out dosu.
