I need your help
I am having trouble dealing with Pain (Naraka Path). I know he's not that devastating or anything, but with him and the new Deva Path he freezes my hand a lot. In the early game I Mind Transfer + The Fire Lord him, playing Fire with a touch of Earth btw, but when I don't draw that, I have to wait until the late game to deal with him. It might seem noobish to ask for help about a simple card, but I'd rather be able to play around it rather than whine about it. All help is greatly appreciated.

I agree he does a little much for only one card -- mission and effect control, 3 chumps and sacs and PiPs from discard, AND free healing. This is coming from a player who loves Void as well.
If you're looking to stop his Even turn effect, you can use Suigetsu [Dehydrated] or any kind of effect negate that Naraka doesn't already prevent. If you're looking to stop his Icon spam you can side in Shimon or injure him T2 with a Backstab or something (and probably discard him before he gets Icon out too). If you're looking to stop him and his 3 Icons at T3+, give up. It's not worth spending so many of your resources killing off Icons when Naraka can get them back for free. Unless they sac one of them and make an obvious play like sticking a Deva in discard for a T6 PiP without sacrifice, you should be trying to attack other more vulnerable parts of the deck. If you want to beat decks that use Sacrifice in general, use Idle Comrades or Moment of Weakness. Those two missions are Void's bane. ![]() Naraka + Icon is pretty much a sturdy wall that accelerates Void while slowing down the opponent. But that's Void in a nutshell for you. |
